The Philippine National Police has formally activated the PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (PRS) as the new primary unit for the management of recruitment and selection process for patrol officer, lateral entry for technical and line officers, and the cadetship program of the Philippine National Police Academy.
PNP Chief, Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa personally presided the activation along with the Command Group today, May 18, at Sandigan Hall, DPRM Annex Building Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.
The newly-established service hub will be under the supervision of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).
DPRM Director, Police Major General Reynaldo Biay said the activation was originally approved on December 27, 2019 thru NAPOLCOM Resolution Number 2019-103.
He also added that pursuant to NHQ-PNP General Order Number DPL-19-04, PRS is now a National Administrative Support Unit under the functional supervision of the DPRM for rigid process of selecting and recruiting aspiring cops and cadets who will heed the call of public service.
Police Colonel Atty Ma. Leonora C Camarao is designated Director of the newly activated PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (PRS).
Meanwhile, Gamboa said that the creation of PRS will institutionalize a systematic recruitment process for the most qualified men and women who will join the police service.
“Now, as the PNP is recruiting new police officers, we are proud to say that the organization is offering one of the highest paying entry level position jobs in the country,” he said.
He also expressed his gratitude to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for his unwavering support to the police force in ensuring their morale and welfare as the law enforcement arm of the national government.
