Just a day after spearheading the launch of Cavite – Manila Ferry Service in Cavite City, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade graced the relaunching of Pasig River Ferry Services today, 09 December 2019.

Acting on the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to provide alternative modes of transportation, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has initiated the relaunching of the ferry service in Pasig River, with support from other government agencies.

Secretary Tugade, on behalf of President Duterte, expressed his gratitude to the MMDA officials and personnel involved in the project.

“Ang una po, ipinararating ng ating pangulo sa MMDA ang kanyang congratulations at taos-pusong pasasalamat for relaunching the Pasig Ferry. Alam po nating lahat na ang relaunch ng Pasig Ferry ay isang magandang bahagi upang matugunan ‘yung tinatawag na mobility at connectivity ng mga tao at, higit sa lahat, upang makatulong to decongest the traffic in Metro Manila,” said Secretary Tugade in his speech.

Other officials present in the event were Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, DENR Sec. Roy Cimatu, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, MMDA Chairman Danny Lim, MARINA OIC Administrator Narciso Vingson Jr., PCG Commandant Vice Admiral Joel Garcia, and MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia.
