New breed of Tabak army division troopers sent-off

Three hundred seventy-four Tabak Troopers were ceremonially sent-off at Camp Sang-an, Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Among the 374 troops, eight have the rank of Private First Class and 366 were Privates, who were fresh graduates of the Infantry Operation Course, a new training pioneered by the 1st ID, particularly 1st Division Training School.

Master Sergeant Melchor Bitara, the Division Sergeant Major and the keynote speaker, who also is the most ranking enlisted personnel of the command, advised the troops to remain professional, obey lawful orders and apply all the knowledge and skills acquired in the school.

Meanwhile Maj. Gen. Gene Ponio, 1st Infantry Division Commander said that “It’s about time for you to prove your flexibility and adopt the changing operational environment, commitment to duty and professionalism in serving the people and securing the country”.

“Be disciplined and responsible soldier who is always cautious in actions so that we may continue to sustain the peace and progress that we have achieved in the area of responsibility”, he added.

The send-off ceremony is traditionally conducted in order to show support and motivation to the troops. 1ID
