Navy vessel transports 16,000 sets of PPEs for the frontliners of Cebu

BRP Davao del Sur (LD602) arrived yesterday, June 25,2020 at Aduana Wharf, Malacaṅang sa Sugbu, Cebu City bringing the 16,000 sets of much-needed personal protective equipment (PPEs) and Medical Supplies intended for the frontliners of Cebu and other parts of Central Visayas.

LD602 was welcomed personally by no less than Commander, Naval Forces Central, COMMO DORVIN JOSE L LEGASPI PN. Meanwhile, navy reservists from Naval Reserve Center- Eastern Visayas together with personnel from Task Group Cebu-Bohol-Siquijor (TG CBS) served as hauling party for the unloading of PPEs and medical supplies that will be subsequently transported to different parts of Cebu and sealifted to Tacloban intended to other parts of the Region 8.

With the ongoing pandemic, Philippine Navy through Naval Forces Central will continuously support the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) “Bayanihan to heal as one Act” utilizing highly essential means for the survival of the people and deliver necessary assistance to our urban community and especially to our frontliners.

The Naval Forces Central, under Central Command will continue its mandate in its fight against COVID-19 crisis while ensuring safety and security of the people.
