Navy kicks off AI training with Philippine Space Agency

The Naval Sea Systems Commands Naval Research and Technology Development Center and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) kicked off on Wednesday, April 28, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Program as a follow-through activity to its initial meeting last month on the optimum use of space technologies for the Philippine Navy (PN).

The AI Training Program was initiated by PhilSA for the personnel of NRTDC and other PN units. According to Dr. Joel Joseph Marciano, Jr., Director General of PhilSA, the AI training aims to maximize the utilization of science and technology to enhance Philippine national security.

Prior to this initiative, PhilSA had already partnered with the Department of Science and Technology-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) and the University of the Philippines-Diliman to explore the country’s space capabilities. NAVY.MIL.PH
