The Philippine Navy (PN) and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement that aimed to strengthen collaboration and partnership on May 18.
MARINA Administrator and former Navy chief, retired Vice Adm. Robert Empedrad, and PN Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, signed the memorandum of agreement between the two organizations as witnessed by key officials from both parties.
In his remarks, Navy chief Bacordo stated that the Navy “is particularly enthusiastic about this partnership because MARINA has always been PN’s partner in many aspects. Hopefully, this MOA will bring forth a multitude of collaborative projects now and in the years to come. The Philippine Navy is excited to work with all of you in MARINA”
MARINA Administrator, retired Vice Adm. Empedrad, stressed the importance and the necessity of this agreement and cooperation among maritime agencies if the Philippines is to be a “progressive maritime nation” during his remarks.
Through this MOA, the PN, and MARINA will collaborate to raise awareness of the developments in the Philippine maritime industry and to strengthen cooperation and partnership among maritime stakeholders. NAVY.MIL.PH
