Navy frigate project inspectors start inspection of upcoming BRP Antonio Luna

The Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas Antonio Luna (FF151), the 2nd and final frigate in the PhP16 Billion PN Frigate Acquisition Project (FAP) inspectors, departed for Hyundai Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea at 11 am today, for a weeklong Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT).

“Focus of this week’s SAT will be on the various weapons and sensors with the objective of showcasing the full combat capability of FF151,” the PN Frigate Owner Representative Captain Sergio Bartolome said.

The Technical Inspection and Acceptance Committee (TIAC) for the said project is joining the SAT in order to check vessel performance against the agreed technical specification and warfare capabilities. The Frigate TIAC is headed by REAR ADMIRAL ALBERTO B CARLOS PN, the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4.

According to REAR ADMIRAL CARLOS, “90.1% of the agreed acceptance tests has already been performed with satisfactory results. Upon completion of this weeks SAT, the completion rating is expected to go up to almost 100%, which will pave the way for FF151s re-docking and final outfitting prior delivery in February next year.” NAVY.MIL.PH
