The Philippine Navy through Naval Forces Central spearheaded a Simulation Exercise of an Amphibious Raid, one of the highlights of the Exercise PAGSASAMA 2021, Thursday morning, August 19, 2021 at Ormoc City Park, Larrazabal Street, Ormoc City, Leyte.
The Commander, Naval Forces Central and Officer Conducting the Exercise, COMMO ERNESTO O BALDOVINO PN graced the event together with CAPT RAUL A REGIS PN(GSC), Deputy Commander, NFC, the CNTF50, and Exercise Director and team NFC. SP Member Gregorio Yrastorza III and City Administrator Vincent Emnas also attended the program on behalf of Ormoc City Mayor Richard I Gomez. Likewise, present are the following distinguished guests: COL NOEL VESTUIR PA(MNSA), Deputy Commander, 802nd Infantry Brigade, 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army representative of BGEN ZOSIMO A OLIVEROS PA; PBGEN ROADE P TOMBAGA PNP, Executive Officer, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) – Visayas; PCOL RAMIL L RAMIREZ PNP, Director, Ormoc City Police Office; and CAPT DONNETE DOLINA PCG, Chief of Staff, Coast Guard District – Eastern Visayas.
COMMO BALDOVINO PN personally hand-over the plaque of appreciation to the honorable guests in deep appreciation of their unselfish and invaluable services rendered during the conduct of EXERCISE PAGSASAMA 2021. Moreover, the award of the Bronze Cross Medals were given to 512nd Naval Squadron Reserve members in honor of their acts of heroism involving risk of life as Reservist Enlisted Personnel of Eastern Visayas who had volunteered last year during the declaration of a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Republic of the Philippines due to Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic.
After the Amphibious Raid Simulation Exercise, civil military operations activities such as Livelihood seminar with feeding, photostatic display, free barber services, operation tuli, dental hygiene awareness, hand-over of face mask, face shield, food packs and brigada eskwela was conducted at Purok Kintolimbo, Brgy Naungan and Naungan Elem School, Ormoc City, Leyte was conducted in order to capacitate naval reservists in the conduct of CMO together with the PN regular force delivering basic services to win the hearts and minds of the community.
The activities during the said visit were conducted with the strict observance of the health and biosafety protocols posed by IATF to prevent COVID-19 transmission. NAVAL FORCES CENTRAL
