Navy chief visits checkpoints, quarantine facilities

The Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy, Rear Adm. Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, visited the troops stationed in checkpoints around San Juan, Cainta, Rizal and in Marikina Sports Complex, today, March 31 following his visit to several quarantine facilities yesterday.

These visits were aimed to boost the morale of the navy personnel stationed in the different parts of Metro Manila.

In his speech, Rear Adm. Bacordo reiterated to sailors and marines manning the checkpoints to “take this enhanced community quarantine seriously to minimize the effect of this virus to our community” and reminded them to “always keep yourselves healthy amid the looming threat of COVID-19”.

He further reassured the troops that “the government and your Philippine Navy will take care of you, just do your duty diligently… [and] always follow the rules and directives from the Inter-Agency Task Force”.

The men and women of the Philippine Navy are committed to proactively aid the government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders in their collective efforts to mitigate the effects of this global pandemic. NAVY.MIL.PH
