Military engineers welcome the ‘Supremo’

New equipment was issued to the 549th Engineer “Kapayapaan” Battalion (549 ECB) which is called the “Supremo”.


“Supremo” is a prime mover with a trailer that will be utilized by the 549ECB in its vertical and horizontal construction projects and in supporting the socio-economic program of the government.

The equipment arrived in Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on October 6, 2020, onboard BRP Bacolod City of the Philippine Navy. A self-loading mixer was also issued to the unit.

On the same day, the Kapayapaan troopers led by Lt. Col. Lorvina Lamug, the Acting Commanding Officer welcomed the “Supremo” with a ritual blood bath and blessing. Also present during the activity was Lt. Col. Leonora Bascoguin Commanding Officer of 12th Forward Service Support Unit.

“The Prime Mover symbolizes strength and a big opportunity for the battalion to accomplish more projects in its area of operations,” said Brig. Gen. Anthony Cacayuran, Commander of the 54th Engineer Brigade who was instrumental to the issuance of said equipment to the 549 ECB.

“The Kapayapaan Battalion can now move anything…anytime…anywhere!” the commander added.

Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command extended his felicitations to the 549ECB for the acquisition of the new equipment.

“This will build up your capability and will aid in your extended service to the people of Mindanao,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added. WESTERN MINDANAO COMMAND
