The 9th Marine Company, 9MBN, and one platoon from FRG were part of the contingent of the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) to the interoperability and readiness exercise of Fleet-Marine units.

This exercise was spearheaded by the Philippine Fleet (PF) through the Fleet Training and Doctrine Center (FTDC).

The participation of the PMC in this training exercise is a product of the just concluded PMC-PF Staff to Staff Talk last September 28, 2020.

Exercise Pagbubuklod 2020 is an annual unilateral exercise conducted solely by units of the Philippine Navy to enhance Naval Operations Capability.

This exercise is also in support of the development of Marine Battalion Landing Teams into the Marine Amphibious Ready Unit (MARU). The MARU is a rapid, amphibious, hard-hitting, and joint, combined, and interagency-ready force that performs seaborne maneuvers, sustained maneuvers ashore, and multinational engagements and cooperation across various defense missions.
