Marines down 4 Abu Sayyafs in Tawi-Tawi

Members of Marine Battalion Landing Team-6 under 2nd Marine Brigade together with 64th Reconnaissance Company supported by Amphibious Assault Battalion neutralized four members of Sulu-based Abu Sayyaf Group/Kidnap For Ransom Group in Barangay Lakit-Lakit, Sapa-Sapa, Tawi-Tawi last 19 January 2020.

Said bandits operate in the tri-boundary of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

The firefight resulted to the neutralization of four Abu Sayyaf members and recovered one M1 Garand Rifle, one bandolier with 2 long and 5 short magazines loaded with live ammunitions, two (2) sachets of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (SHABU), assorted drugs paraphernalia and two (2) cellular phones.

The operation was made possible through the joint effort of the Philippine Marines under 2nd Marine Brigade and the Local Government Unit of Sapa-Sapa.
