Israel’s defense attaché pays courtesy call on Navy chief

The newly installed defense attaché of Israel to the Philippines, Mr. Raz Shabtay, paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy (FOIC, PN), Vice Adm. Giovanni Carlo Bacordo at the PN headquarters here today, November 6.

FOIC, PN, Vice Adm. Bacordo accorded warm reception to the visiting defense attaché and introduced him to select members of his staff. Highlights of the discussion during the call included exchanges of best practices between the Philippines and Israel militaries.

Mr. Shabtay held various high-ranking positions in Israel’s Ministry of Defense before this designation. He holds M.A. degree in diplomacy and security from Tel Aviv University and B.A degree in social sciences at Bar-Ilan University.
