Incoming Australian defense attaché visits Philippine Navy chief

 The incoming Defense Attaché of Australia to the Philippines, Col. Paul Barta, rendered an introductory call on the Philippine Navy (PN) Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Giovanni Carlo Bacordo at the Navy headquarters today, February 10.

The Navy chief, along with select members of his staff warmly received the visiting defense attaché and talked about the continuing strong bilateral ties between the militaries of the Philippines and Australia as the highpoint of the discussions during the call.

Colonel Barta served on operational deployments in Bougainville, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He attended the Australian Command and Staff College in 2004. He is also a graduate of the Australian Defence School of Languages and has attended a short Filipino language course. He holds a Master of Arts – International Relations, a Master of Management in Defence Studies, and a Bachelor of Professional Studies.

Said call translates to the sustainment and furtherance of the relationship between the two country’s militaries which greatly contributes to the diplomatic relations of the Philippines and Australia. NAVY.MIL.PH
