Coast Guard rescues four fishermen in Batanes

Personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Batanes and Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Francisco Dagohoy (Multi-Mission Offshore Vessel-5002) successfully rescued four fishermen onboard Fishing banca Mico which encountered rudder trouble while at vicinity waters of Itbayat, Batanes on September 28.

A concerned resident of Kayhuvukan, Basco, Batanes reported that said fishing banca encountered rudder trouble at the said vicinity.

Upon receipt of information, personnel of CGS Batanes immediately coordinated with the Commanding Officer of BRP Francisco Dagohoy, Commander Roderik M Elioran PCG, regarding the said incident leading to the joint conducted of search and rescue operation.

Investigation revealed that the rudder of said fishing boat broke apart due to rough seas causing them to maneuver improperly. Meanwhile, the rescued fishermen are all in good condition. PCG
