The commander of Coast Guard Education Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), RADM ARTEMIO M ABU PCG visited the PCG Mentors in Cagayan De Oro at RTC Laguindingan.
He was warmly welcomed by the CGMC Course Director, CDR AZRA RIZZA SUANGCO PCG joined by her Training Staff, Drill Instructors and Support Staffs (security & logistics personnel) and the Officers of Coast Guard District Regional Office in Northern Mindanao.
RADM ABU met the Officers and men of the PCG and laid down his training policy directives anchored to the instruction of the Commandant ADMIRAL GEORGE V URSABIA JR PCG to ensure that we are producing quality coastguardians who are disciplined, well guided, inspired, respect one another, and are ready to serve with humility and compassion.
RADM ABU conducted a lecture attended by the following: District Commander of CGDNM (with his Deputy, Staff Officers and Station Commanders), Training Staff (Course Director, Asst CD, Tactical Officers and DI’s), security details and CCGMs.
He started with the reiteration of his Training Policy Guidance followed by lectures on proper conduct and decorum, courtesy and discipline, leadership, attitude and accountability in the service, service with humility and compassion, teamwork and sprit-de-corps, espousing good human relations between and among PCG personnel and the community.
After the half day interaction with the trainees and tour to the facilities, RADM ABU reported to ADMIRAL URSABIA; “that the CD handles well the training and that the students are inspired, motivated and highly spirited”.
RADM ABU also shown the video regarding the US ADMIRAL who have spoken about building the right attitude in the service. He explained well to the attendees its relevance being in the uniformed service and armed service. Coast Guard Education Training and Doctrine Command
