Coast Guard celebrates 118th Founding Anniversary

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade graced the 118th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) today, 10 October 2019.

In his keynote speech, Secretary Tugade lauded the continuous efforts of the agency to boost capability enhancement for maritime safety and security as well as for the protection of our coastlines.

“Today, I came to express the appreciation of the President for the many good things you have done and continue to do for this country. I came to you today, in my own self, to assure you that for so long as it is needed for the security and safety of our maritime waters, I shall be with the Philippine Coast Guard,” said Sec. Tugade.

For his part, PCG Commandant Admiral Elson Hermogino expressed gratitude for the guidance and assistance of President Rodrigo Duterte and Secretary Tugade.

“My sincerest gratitude goes to His Excellency Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for his continuing support to the organization, development and modernization of the Philippine Coast Guard. Likewise, we owe much of our success to our beloved Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade for the continued support for the many projects and programs of the PCG,” Admiral Hermogino said.
