The Philippine Navy’s BRP Antonio Luna (FF151) has secured the firing capability of its 76mm naval gun.
“BRP ANTONIO LUNA FF151 secures the firing capability on the 76mm Gun by way of official gun firing which was hosted by the Shipbuilder, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd,” said in the social networking page of BRP Antonio Luna.
BRP Antonio Luna officially entered navy service on March 19, 2021 during her commissioning ceremony at Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila.
The said frigate, built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea, is the sister ship of BRP Jose Rizal (FF150).
FF150 and FF151 were acquired through the Frigate Acquisition Project (FAP) which was awarded to Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) of South Korea.
The two frigates are designed to be capable of conducting anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare operations.
