Army battalion from Mindanao undergoes retraining program

The Commander of the 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Major General Alfredo V. Rosario Jr., led the welcome ceremony for the troops of the 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion to its mother unit in Central Luzon on February 20, 2021 at the 7ID Headquarters in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

The troops of 71IB headed by its Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sonny E. Gonzales, will temporarily serve as the Division reserve while they are undergoing Battalion Retraining Program prior to their deployment.

Major General Rosario Jr., in his welcome speech, commended the performance of the Kaibigan Battalion in its former area of operations in Mawab, Davao De Oro where they had been assigned for almost 10 years.

The Battalion Retraining Program usually runs for a few months, after which the battalion will then be deployed to a strategic area within the mother unit’s AOR. 7TH INFANTRY DIVISION
