Amphibious Assault Vehicles Company marks 2nd anniversary

The Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAVs) Company of the Assault Armor Battalion is celebrating its second year of activation.

The AAV Company currently has eight KAAV7A1 model AAVs from South Korea’s Hanwha Defense.

The AAV acquisition project is one of the first projects implemented in the first horizon of the AFP’s modernization program and an additional capability to the Corps for amphibious and littoral maneuvers, ground combat maneuvers, and support to disaster response.

AAV units are distributed to the Marine Amphibious Ready Units forwardly deployed to critical areas as one of the core competent of the Archipelagic Coastal Defense of the AFP. PHILIPPINE MARINE CORPS
