The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Cirilito Sobejana on Tuesday, May 25, urged the men and women of the Philippine Navy to continue being a robust and responsive naval force to fulfil its mandate of protecting our territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The AFP Chief was welcomed by Navy Flag Officer in Command, Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo in his visit to the Headquarters Philippine Navy, Bonifacio Naval Station, Taguig City.

“Our valiant marines and sailors have exemplified steadfastness as they vigilantly secure our territory through the conduct of relentless maritime security operations. Indeed, it is the men and women of the Philippine Navy, who stand tall at the frontlines, as we deploy naval and air assets to assert our sovereign rights over our EEZ which our adversaries aggressively contest and violate,” General Sobejana said.

During his visit, the Chief of Staff witnessed a capability demonstration by the Philippine Marines. He was also informed about the Major Service’s current efforts and action plans.

They will definitely be crucial and truly instrumental in advancing our naval prowess.”

The AFP Chief also commended the Navy’s leadership and encouraged the personnel to continue their dedication to service.

“As we continue to serve our government and our people, I trust that your Command will continue to safeguard and preserve our maritime domain. Furthermore, I urge you to keep on nurturing a culture of professionalism and excellence amongst your ranks,” General Sobejana said. AFP.MIL.PH
