The 3rd Mechanized Infantry (MAKATARUNGAN) Battalion is undergoing a Battalion Retraining which started on October 2, 2019 and will last until June 2020.
The formal opening of the Battalion Retraining was held at Sitio Pugo, Barangay Burgos, San Jose, Tarlac. It was facilitated by The Armor School (TAS), with Major General Robert C. Dauz, Commander of the Armor (PAMBATO) Division, Philippine Army, as the Keynote Speaker.
Retrainings are regularly being conducted to hone the individual skills of soldiers, enhance teamwork, improve their ability to adapt in the current and evolving operational challenges and manage the dynamic security environment in their area of operations.
It also intends to enhance the overall effectiveness of the unit in the performance of their mandated tasks.
Along this line, a comprehensive training program was created to enhance the readiness of the unit, both in combat and non-combat duties, in its pursuit to efficiently and effectively perform its commitment to the people.
In his message, Major General Dauz urged the Makatarungan Troopers to enhance and improve their knowledge and skills from the training.
He also emphasized that learning is a never ending process and its application during actual scenarios will determine how much they learned from the training.
Major General Lenard T. Agustin of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, under which the 3rd Mech Bn operates, has always put training among the top of his priorities as Commander of the 7ID.
“Being given a talent in certain areas is a blessing, but not everyone has talent. That is why we have trainings. What one lacks in talent and skills, training can easily fill-up. Through hard work, discipline and dedication, training takes a soldier even beyond their own expectations. Our troops are comprised of ordinary men who chose to serve, and trained to defend the people and the land. Through intensive training, they have become our local heroes who can adapt to any situation and respond to any emergency or threat. Training and discipline is what makes us soldiers a cut above the rest,” explained Major General Agustin.
The Commanding Officer of the 3rd Mech Bn, Lieutenant Colonel Norberto P Aromin Jr, said that they will remain relentless in the effort to end the local armed conflict and protect the people in its area of operations while on training.
Further, he said that that the retraining program will better capacitate them in the performance of their mandate. Kaugnay Division
