For four years since of its implementation, the PNP Internal Cleansing Program has penalized 15, 768 personnel for administrative offenses including involvement in illegal drug trade, grave misconduct, serious neglect of duty, involvement in criminal cases, serious irregularity, malversation, dishonesty, and graft and corruption.
In a tabulated report from the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), these personnel, uniformed and non-uniformed staff, who faced administrative charges were proven committed serious infractions during period of July 2016 to September 29, 2020.
During the same period, a total of 4,591 PNP personnel were summarily dismissed from the service for serious infractions, while 7,888 of them were suspended.
DPRM records also revealed that 1,511 were reprimanded and 846 cops were demoted in ranks for their erring actions while in service.
Of total number of personnel with administrative cases, 608 of them were sanctioned with forfeiture of salary, 119 restricted to quarters, and 205 personnel has been withheld of their privileges.
On rogue cops in drug trade, 549 more personnel were dismissed for drug-related cases including 410 who tested positive for drug use and 139 personnel for involvement in illegal drug trade since July 2016. PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE
