The closure of Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge connecting Makati City and Mandaluyong City is will be pushing through on January 12, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
“The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will push through with the closure of Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge on Saturday, January 12, at 8 am,” MMDA said in an advisory.
The closure of the said bridge to give way for construction of new four-lane bridge was scheduled in September 2018, however, due to vehicle volume brought by the holiday season the closure was deferred.
The bridge project is one of two China Grant-Aid Bridges, which are financed by the People’s Republic of China through a bilateral cooperation with the Republic of the Philippines. The other bridge is the Binondo-Intramuros bridge.
